HF Projects was started back in 2000 when we regained our interest in Amateur Radio. I was first licensed in 1956 or 1957 and then went off to military service, raising a family and running a consulting business. Homebrew is my first love because of the efforts of a local Elmer when I was yet a teenager. I try to use the talent given me to return something to this wonderful hobby that began my career.
My first recent build was the Elecraft K2. My prior experience with hiking and camping as a Scout Master guided me towards the development of the HF Packer-Amp. My association with HFpack heightened my awareness of a need for a small backpacker amplifier for the very popular FT817 transceiver. Today, I serve as a moderator for this popular group.
The amplifiers have always been home construction projects where the builders particpate as a group to build their amplifier.
